Bikash Roy

Bikash Roy was born in Calcutta in 1916. After completing matriculation from Mitra Institution, he graduated from
Presidency College with Bachelor of Arts (BA), followed by a degree in Law from Calcutta University.
Bikash Roy's acting debut happened in the film 'Abhijatri' directed by Jyotirmoy Ray in 1936. Since then he has acted in different
types of roles and has marked his place as one of best character role actor in Bengali movies ever.
His performance as a villain in the movie 'Biyallis (42)' was remarkably realistic. He also worked in professional
drama and radio.
In 1985 he announced retirement from acting. He wrote couple of books related to film acting. Roy died in 1987.
