Dr Santanu Das is CEO, President and founder of Transwitch Corporation. TranSwitch designs, develops, markets and supports highly integrated digital and mixed-signal (analog and digital) semiconductor solutions for the telecommunications and data communications markets. The Company's products are Very Large Scale Integrated (VLSI) semiconductor devices that provide core functionality for communications network equipment. The company is publicly traded in NASDAQ under symbol TXCC. Current market capitalisation is around 2.7 billion US$.
        Dr. Das did his Bachelors and Masters in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Jadavpur University, Calcutta in the late '60s. He received Doctor of Science from Washington University, St. Louis in 1973. He was with ITT Industries and served as Director of Applied Technology Division. Then he held the position of President at Spectram Digital Corporation before starting Transwitch in 1988.
