Subrata Chakravarty


Subrata Chakravarty is a very well known figure among Asian as well as international journalist circles. He was the Former Assistant Managing Editor for the Forbes Magazine and presently, he is the Senior Editor of Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

While at Forbes, Subrata Chakravarty was the key person to organize and coordinate Forbes' analytical coverage of large corporations. Among his many other awards, in 1993, he received the Overseas Press Club's Citation for Excellence for his 1992 article on India's economic reforms, "Getting the Elephant to Dance".

Subrata Chakravarty was born in India and he attended the famous Doon School in Dehra Dun. He then went on to Yale for studies in Political Science and then to Harvard for his MBA. He serverd in various capacities at Harvard, Goodyear India and First Manhattan before joining the Forbes Magazine.

Subrata Chakravarty is an ardent mentor and a father figure for many aspiring Indian as well as other journalists. He is the senior most member of the South Asian Journalist Association (SAJA) and he also serves in the board of SAJA.
