Leander Paes
e made his Davis Cup debut as a 16-year-old boy and
carved a name for himself then onwards. He won the junior
titles in Wimbledon in 1990 and US Open in 1991. His
biggest moment in his career in the 1996 Atlanta Olympic
bronze medal victory. Year 1999 turned out to be the most
successful year of his career so far. Alongside Mahesh
Bhupathi, Paes became the No. 1 doubles team in the world.
They reached the finals of all the Grand Slam events this
year and won the French and Wimbledon titles. He partnered
Lisa Raymond of the USA to win the Mixed doubles title at
the Wimbledon 1999.
Recently, he added another feather to his crown by winning the Men's double in US Open, 2006.
