Rabindra Sadan, named after the nobel laureate poet, philosopher, writer Rabindranath Tagore. Located opposite to Victoria Memorial. Nice auditorium which hosts different cultural activities.  Sanskrit College - near College Street. Sanskrit is the language which is considered to be the origin of most Indian languages - similar to Latin in Europe. The language is hardly used these days except for hindu religious occasions.Science City - a recent addition to 'to be seen' list of places in Calcutta. Located at the extreme eastern end of the city near Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. The complex exhibits different technology models. The place is for fun and scientific knowledge.
St. Paul's church. Outside and inside architectural beauty is worth seeing. Statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose with Sahid Minar in the background. There are lots of staues all over the city specially on the street junctions. Taxi - yellow cabs. Most of these cars are diesel run Ambassadar , a model manufactured by Hindustan Motors. Some of them carry electronic meters. The rates are little higher compared to other modes of transportation.
Tram cars powered by electricity. Calcutta is the only city in India which still have tram cars. As a matter of fact, Calcutta has so many ways of commuting, starting from hand drawn rickshaws to underground tube rail. Lots of tram routes have been removed to avoid traffic jams. But being the most environment friendly urban vehicle, trams still survive. Victoria Memorial, a marvellous palace built during the British period in memory of Queen Elizabeth Victoria of England. Has a nice museum inside which depicts history of the city.  Writer's Building - the state secretariat holds offices of state government ministers and officials. Located in the heart of the city at BBD Bag.
