Greetings from PRATYUSH, a centre for downtrodden children & women (Pratyush CDCW). We at PRATYUSH are trying to bring the light of happiness in the lives of children living in the darkness of poverty. To achieve our goal, we are trying to impart formal education as well as develop power of observation, health & hygiene, aptitude, eco-friendliness, discipline and co-operation building etc. to the poor children. A handicraft centre has been started for the benefit of mothers and elderly sisters of the said children. Some of the well-wishers (both in India and abroad) have already extended co-operation in this regard. Every year the annual evaluation of the target children and women is organized in the format of a cultural festival. On the basis of the outcome of annual evaluation we prepare the future plan for development program.

 

Action taken to enlighten poor and downtrodden children who lacks proper education:

• Encourage illiterate students and those who dropped out to enroll in school and bear the cost of monthly tuition fees, examination fees, school uniform etc.
• Provide books, notebooks, pens, pencils etc. free of cost.
• Arrange free coaching by the members of Pratyush.
• Provide reading rooms equipped with lanterns to take care of possible power cuts to help the children prepare their daily lessons without any disturbance.
• Set up small library and encourage students to read all kinds of books including story books and thus develop the habit of reading.
• Have regular evaluation of the progress made by the children through monthly, half yearly and annual examination.
• Arrange free drawing/painting classes with help from professional artists and supply necessary equipments such as colors, pencils, erasers, drawing books etc.
• Nurture creativity by teaching clay modeling, paper-cutting etc.
• Help children grow in an atmosphere full of rhythm and harmony through music, dance and recitation.
• Arrange educational and recreational tours to nearby places from time to time.
• Arrange children's film shows, slide shows and magic shows etc.
• Acquaint children with the world outside text books as well as facilitate a healthy and proper growth of their mental abilities through puzzle solving lessons, quiz, pattern matching, story telling etc.
• Publish wall magazine "USHA" as well as a bi-monthly magazine "BHORAI" in which children are encouraged to write.
• Arrange physical training.
• Teach basics of hygiene and cleanliness.
• Organize cultural programs by the children on important occasions.

How can you help Pratyush ?

• Help us raising fund
• Donate food items, educational equipments, toys, garments (new or used)
• Bear financial responsibility of one poor helpless child (Rs.2500 or US$55) per year.
• Donate computer, photocopy machines, VCP, printers, binaculor. microscopes, camera, tape recorder, musical instruments (table, harmonium etc.) and other things like sewing instruments for the handicraft training center.
• Subscribe/sponsor various children's magazines such as Shuktara, Sandesh, Sishumon etc. for the children in Pratyush
• Inform others about Pratyush
• Give your kind opinion and suggestions for helping Pratyush to become more efficient.
