Distinctive Thinking on Canvas
Vision, a show depicting contemporary art from 5 renowned artists was recently organized in the north gallery of the Academy of Fine Arts. Madhu Dhanuka Jain wove magic in his acrylic number portraying the image of a modern life from the glittery world of fashion. The artist trained in kolkata and Rajasthan boasts of her artworks placed in gallery’s of Mumbai and Delhi. Subimalendu Bikash Sinha, the principal of ‘The Indian College of Arts and Dramatics’, despite his age feels the pulse of today in his painting of a woman adorning herself with a flower. Coming from a remote village in Hooghly, artist Kashinath Koley now lives in Sonarpur. His theme is nature. His canvas comes alive with deft strokes and lively colors. Oil painting by Saroj Basu mirrors a working-class household. This artist hailing from suburb is strangely equipped with a color-sense. The high point of the exhibition was Debasish Ghosh’s ‘Thinkers’.
